I believe you can make me well-

Ted Neely, Carl Anderson and Yvonne Elliman: Jesus Christ, Judas & Mary Magdalene-

I'm not a religious person, but the 1973 musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" is one of my favourite movies of all time. I've been reading a book about the slums in Calcutta, India that has a high focus on the leper colonies and the thousands of affected people who live there. This brought back memories of a scene from this movie... I used to sing along to this film so enthusiastically that I thought my vocal chords might explode or I'd give myself some kind of hernia.

To date, I haven't come across another movie, musical, with the same level of fantastically beautiful vocals as there are in this one. Gives me goosebumps everytime...

Happy Thursday, hope you enjoy- Namaste.

Tubular Bells

When I was about 14-15 years old, I overheard my Dad listening to some funky, instrumentals. This is when I discovered Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells; same creator of the creepy and notorious Exorcist theme song.

One night while lying in bed, I put my earphones in and allowed the music to put me in a trance; there was no other thought in my mind other than the pure hypnotic progression of the song... My mind was clear and uncluttered, it was at this time that I experienced my first, and to date only, out of body experience- Astral Projection.

I've never been able to recreate this feeling, this experience, since that one night while lying in my bed. I felt weightless, like my body was hovering above the 4 comforters that had once felt so heavy on my body....

Here's the song that initiated it all; close your eyes, enjoy and let it take you on a ride-

Imagine...

John Lennon Memorial, Strawberry Fields, Central Park, NYC- November 2007

Today mark's what would have been John Lennon's 70th Birthday...

Imagine the differences he could have continued to make in this World if his Life hadn't been selfishly taken from him at the young age of 40. Lennon's death was felt around the Globe & although this tragedy occurred before I was born, my Heart still drops and I get body-wide goosebumps when I think about what happened and what could have been under different circumstances.

I try not to think of the man ("man") who committed this heinous act because his purpose was to become famous from his actions. He doesn't deserve an iota of thought because that's exactly what he hoped to attain-

Instead, let's remember the brilliant, musical, charismatic, peace loving and peace advocating pure Soul that Lennon was and appreciate the mark that he left on the World and in so many people's Lives; Gone but never forgotten, you are missed dearly.

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will live as one."

"I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together."

"Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,
They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind,
Possessing and caressing me.
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on across the universe,
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box
They tumble blindly as they make their way
Across the universe
Sounds of laughter shades of love are
Ringing through my open ears inciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a
Million suns, and calls me on and on
Across the universe"

Did you know?

The word "amok"
(as in: "The Bieber fans are running amok!!!")
is derived from the Balinese language.
The term was used to describe
an ancient Balinese battle technique,
in which the attacker suddenly begins an
insanely wild,
hand-to-hand
style of combat.

This,
of course,
terrified the Europeans,
and the word "amok"
made its presence known.

10 Reasons to Smile-

Do we really need reasons to Smile? Is it really necessary for me to write this entry?

On a daily basis, Smiling tends to come quite naturally;
however, when you're in one of those no-good, down-in-the-dumps types of mood,
the Brightness & Beauty of Life can become skewed.

This entry's dedicated to a friend who's been taking the bumpy roads lately-
Keep your Head high & never give up; set your Smile free!

# 10. The sweet face of a kitten or puppy

# 9. The colours of Autumn

# 8. Bob Marley's music (surely it'll brighten your day!)

# 7. An Owl wearing a knit toque (random, but guaranteed to make you Smile!)

# 6. Remembering all the silly (& stupid) things you got away with in High-school

# 5. Your parents (for the patience they practiced during our teenage years)

# 4. A chicken wearing a track-suit (how absurd!)

# 3. Your Friends (the true ones who you know will always have your back)

# 2. Knowing that you have the Power to control your Destiny
(cheesy photo, yes I know)

# 1. You're Alive
& part of this World!
Breathe it all in & Smile :)

Fairytale Digs

Stumbling on this drizzly-dreary Saturday morning, I came across a house in Mexico City that resembles something you'd expect to see in some far-off, Fairytale dream land.

The House was designed by Senosiain Arquitectos and was given the prestigious name "Nautilus" due to it's resemblance of the cephalopod mollusk's delicate spiral shells. There's just something about this House... this Home, that strikes a chord with me- I never thought it was possible to Live inside of something so beautiful & coming across this discovery, has only made me fussier about the Future Home (very distant future home!) that I'll choose to be my (our) very own.

So, without further adieu, I present for the enjoyment of your senses, "The Nautilus"!
