100+ Years
Me most likely asking my Great Grandma what it's like to be so old. Note unimpressed look on her face :)I often wonder what the future holds in store for my generation...
80 Years down the line, what will the Earth look and feel like? What will the fashion trends be? How will people interact? What types of new gadgets will be created?
What will change about the way we live our Lives between now and then?
It's hard to fathom the complete unknown; Everytime you think technology has reached it's max, there's a new innovation that's sure to wow.
My Great-Grandmother will be 105 years old come April of this year. When I saw her a few years ago, I casually asked "Great-Grandma Ida, how does it feel to have been alive for 100 years? You've experienced so much!"; but alas... she either couldn't hear me or was purposely ignoring my question because she just sat and continued to eat her grapes. She had an almost child-like innocence and aura about her- 104 years of Life and barely a wrinkle on her face; puffs of snow-white hair framing her tiny face. Live 104 years and you're destined to become cherubic, blunt and care-free as well.
It got me thinking; my Great-Grandma was born in 1905, what has her Life been like? What has she lived to witness and experience? I did a bit of research and what I've found is quite an extensive list.
Reiterates how different we can expect the World to be as we approach our later years.

Don't let the Past, remind Us of what We are not Now
This song reminds me of myself for some reason... possibly because at times I see myself doing things that are beyond annoying, and even though I'm conscious of it, I'm unable to stop.
It makes me grateful that I'm fortunate to have someone who accepts and Loves me as I am; flaws and all <3

Silent Promises (1980)
I knew this had to exist out there somewhere!!! Little House on the Prairie always highlights characters who aren't typical "Walnut Grove" type people such as a Jewish man, an obese boy, a Blind woman and a German family who can't speak, read or write English. I always find myself yelling "they can't say that on TV!!!" whenever these type of episodes come on because the ignorance is truly "ye' old Oregon-trail" 1800's style, full-on ignorance.
However, that being said, I knew there HAD to be at least one episode where they feature a Deaf character and lo' and behold.... Get excited... I found it!!
The Deaf character, Daniel, is played by an actor named Alban Branton who, from what I researched, is in fact a Deaf actor (kudos to Little House for hiring a Deaf person as opposed to hiring a hearing one trying to play the part). He arrives in Walnut Grove "languageless" and Laura Ingalls takes it on herself to teach him his first signs (paternalistic, yes I know, but it was the 1800's!!!); anyways, it's actually a very sweet plot, fellow terps and fellow non-terps, enjoy!
